Days 1 & 2: Livingstone-Victoria Falls
Arrive at Livingstone/Victoria Falls Airport where you will be met by our representative and transferred across the Zambezi River to the lodge, situated on the northern edge of the Mosi Oa Tunya Park. The area is best known for its giraffe and white rhino but also boasts buffalo, zebra, sable antelope, eland, wildebeest, transitory elephant and many other species. Luxurious tree houses hide discreetly amongst giant ebony trees on a sweeping bend of the Zambezi River. During the next two days your activities will include river cruises, game drives/walks with experienced guides, visits to the Falls themselves and an optional choice of all the 'adrenaline' extras for which the Falls is famous. Overnight at Sussi Lodge on full board basis including four scheduled activities.
Days 3 & 4: Lower Zambezi National Park
On the morning of Day 3, depart after breakfast for your flight to the Lower Zambezi National Park (approx. 1 hour) and Kulefu Tented Safari Camp. The camp consists of eight spacious tented rooms on raised teak decking with twin beds, mosquito nets, en-suite facilities (basin, toilet, shower), solar heated water and a private veranda. All units are serviced. The informal bar, lounge and dining area are housed in a magnificent central marquee, giving an open-air feel and harmonizing with the surrounding environment. Beautiful Rhodesian teak and natural fabrics add comfort and authenticity. 12-volt solar panels run the camp lights and hot water systems. Spend the days game tracking on foot or in vehicles. The option of a canoe ride is also available. Here, after a thousand-mile journey, the sunlit river spreads out to form broad white sandbanks inhabited by crocodile, hippopotamus, and sacred ibis. Ancient oxbow lakes today provide a bountiful ecosystem for other resident wildlife. The Lower Zambezi National Park is an extremely remote area with abundant and varied wildlife including the ‘Big Four’. There are good populations of elephant, lion, buffalo, waterbuck, leopard, hyena, zebra, various gazelle and many bird species.Overnights at Kulefu Tented Camp on full board basis including four scheduled activities.
Days 5 & 6: South Luangwa National Park
On Day 5, depart after breakfast by charter flight for Lusaka International Airport and your onward flight to Mfuwe. The transfer to Puku Ridge Camp takes approximately 1 hour. Named for the elusive Puku antelope which never strays far from water, this beautiful camp among the trees overlooks a sweeping expanse of the fertile Kakumbi dambo (valley). Puku Ridge Tented Camp is small and intimate, built unobtrusively close to the wild. Each of the six comfortably furnished safari tents has its own lavish bathroom, which provides the option of taking a shower with the sun on your shoulders. The diverse wildlife along the Dambo offers great opportunities for photography, whether you choose to explore on foot with a keen-eyed guide, or range further afield in a safari vehicle. And in the evenings, you dine with the night sounds of Africa for a soundtrack. Experts have called South Luangwa one of the greatest wildlife sanctuaries in the world. Concentrations of game around the Luangwa River and its ox-bow lagoons are dramatic. In addition the topography of the area makes it ideal for walking safaris. The park is noted for its big game species particularly leopard, lion and elephant and a whole host of antelope species. Overnights at Puku Ridge Camp on full board basis including four scheduled activities.
Day 7: Lusaka/Departure
Transfer back to Mfuwe for your flight to Lusaka international airport and onward connections.
